THE POLY TANTRIC LOVESTYLE by Janet Kira Lessin www.worldpolyamoryassociation@aol.com

THE POLY TANTRIC LOVESTYLE by Janet Kira Lessin www.worldpolyamoryassociation@aol.com
Consider a tantric poly (= polyamorous--loving two or more) lifestyle where you share tantra–sacred sex. A polytantric lifestyle. We’ve considered it and we live it. We advocate it as an option for all.

We’ve explored on our own and heard thousands of poly-loving and tantric people. We’ve shared experiences and led scores of alternate relationship and sacred sex conferences and seminars. In our seminars, we’ve used humanistic and transpersonal psychology as well as tantric meditation to explore multi-lover relating to aid our spiritual synergy.

Many couples today explore polyamory and swinging. Ever-increasing droves of people flock to conferences, new clubs, websites, private "lifestyle" and "playcouple" activities all over the world.

Most paired-up people who swing or love in a polyamorous triad or moresome enhance their erotic and romantic connection with each other. Some couples, however, seek the lifestyle for the wrong reason–to fix their dysfunctional relationships. In such couples, rather than improve their sour relating, polyamory or swapping may trigger breakups. But most pairs who sample polyamory or the lifestyle deepen their love and intimacy with each other when they love others.
Genetic tests show most humans’ actual behavior is not sexually exclusive with monogamous mates. Our sexual behavior resembles that of our genetically closest primate, the chimp-like Bonobos. Like Bonobos, we couple with multiple partners, though unlike Bonobos, who openly copulate in front of their sexual partners, humans more often hide their non-monogamous coupling from sight and knowledge of their mates. Such hiding reduces the intimacy of relating between the cheater and his or her mate.
Most humans are actually covertly polysexual (more than one sexual partner), while only some, albeit a swelling number, are overtly polyamorous (one than one love in their life).
Most of us keep loving lovers even after we or they end our sexual connection. I love everyone I’ve ever loved and most people who come to me for therapy continue loving those they've loved in their lives.
Our hearts open and we love those we make love with, especially if we regularly enjoy sex with them. We fall in love with people with whom we share sex. We humans--male or female--develop affection, warmth, desire to enjoy one another time and again when we make love over and over with each other. We naturally bond. We love.
Society’s realizing the falseness of old beliefs, beliefs like the belief that most of us are faithfully monogamous or the belief that you can have sex without becoming fond of your lovers. Instead, as the growing polyamorous and lifestyle couples attest, We all have a huge capacity to love and enjoy sex. Many of us are more than able to love many and have tons of sex at the same time. I learned by making love with others while I’m still in love with my husband that I’m ever more turned-on to lovemaking.
Many people nowadays stop connecting sexually with their spouses. I’m a counselor. At least ten times a week couples complain they don't make love anymore. Why? Do we simply get bored with one another? Are we angry? Resentful? I know from my own past and the experiences of those I counsel, that partners who still live together but don't connect sexually with each other still love each other. They panic when they consider leaving no-sex spouses who used to make love with them, because they still love them. They’re friends, comfortable with one another. They mix finances and perhaps raise children together. They know and love each other’s relatives; they share friends and interests together. They don’t want to lose what they’ve built. They don’t want to sell their homes, divide their holdings. So many reasons to stay together, crazy to part just because they stopped sharing sex with each other or because they love others.
Counseling helps non-sexual couples open to sex with each other again. Tantra can also help rekindle their desire; I highly recommend it. But what really enthuses a couple to juicy sex with each other is swinging or polyamory. Couples return home to each other, turned-on from their erotic encounters with others and screw each other’s brains out for days. When they f*ck like minks, chemicals flow, they feel close and feel again in love with each other.
I used to be on the polyamory-only bandwagon. But after intensely studying the swinger movement for the past nine years, I see they’re onto something. A strange piece of ass, watching your partner with someone else, touching two or three people at the same time, doing more than one at a time, breaking taboos, or stretching beyond your own boundaries turns people on.
Sure, there’s jealousy. That’s also human nature. We can use, then get over jealousy. Hang in there with your jealousy, ride it, experience it, feel it, talk it out and never make yourself or your lovers wrong about their feelings and soon you laugh seek sexual adventures together. Like explorers, or hunters on the prowl, together you’ll discuss who’s attractive, what’s attractive and actually be able to act on attractions if you chose.
I suggest couples trying polyamory or swinging stay together as they explore other loves. That’s what works the best for us. If you’re at all insecure, it can be harder for you to relax when your partner goes offstage with another lover, easier if you all share loving in each others’ view and, even better, co-participate. Couples who watch and share each others’ excitement build ever-more desire for each other.
Swinging may be too far out for some of us. Living together with more than one mate may be just as far out for others. A few couples whom we see regularly is the poly lifestyle that works best for Sash and me. I like getting to know new lovers on a very deep level and can do this living separately. Living with anyone but Sasha is hard for me; I get anxious with too many people around all the time. I’m a private person, need privacy, peace and quiet. So living apart and loving together now and again is fine with me.
Of course there’s a time for many to be monogamous for parts of their lives. I’ve done it and enjoyed it–for awhile. Though some folks are even happily monogamous all their lives, few love and want sex only with one person their entire lives. We may be mono (one), amorous (loving) part our lives. But cultural conditioning makes many of us continue monogamously despite the death of sex in the monogamous relationship and despite the fact that we have non-monogamous fantasies, desires and affairs. I have friends who fear losing face if peers knew they considered multi-lover intimacy.
However, if we humans are truthful, at least to ourselves in our own hearts, we are going to have to admit, one and all, that we have feelings and attractions for many, many people in the course of our lives. And when we get to that point, where we’re real with ourselves, than perhaps we can begin to forgive those who do what we dare not, and quit being so sanctimonious. Instead of shaming our politicians and celebrities, realize human nature. Bill and Hillary Clinton are probably in an open marriage. Bill just got careless. If they could talk truth, we’d progress light years.
Using modern DNA testing, we found 99.9% of all the species are non-monogamous. Our genetic cousins, the Bonobos practice polyamory, swinging and bisexual sex. We’re similar. Hospitals using DNA tests find many a dad on the birth certificate isn't the biological father.
Polyamory’s a high spiritual practice. So’s swinging. One swing club in Northern Washington State has a Goddess Ritual where a woman takes on all comers. She seats herself on a swing chair with an endless supply of condoms and the men line up out the door. Some women have been known take on 40 or 50 men during this ritual. She ends up in an enlightened, altered state of consciousness.
Besides being a high spiritual practice and very sexy, being polyamory and couple playing are fun. Cut lose and play as you might have when you were a kid playing outside on a hot Summer eve. When you’re all careful about STD’s and respectful, honest, courteous, kind, loving and playful with one another, you can make love in a puppy puddle with the same abandon you had when you were little playing football, wrestling or King of the Mountain. Poly’s fun.

Beltane this year falls on a Thur. Most folks will be doing their rituals on the week-in. My suggestion is that you do some form of Ritual on the given day. At some point during the day pause, hold sacred space and do ritual. You can do this solo, in small groups or large gatherings. This is a Fire and new beginnings Ritual. In the ancient days this was a day of sexual joining and fertility. Does not matter how you do your Ritual, what matters is that you do it.
Blessings

Wicker Man

Although the burn culture is not the same as the pagan culture or
even the polyamorous culture, there is a lot of overlap because
all three are tagged with the alternative label.

I'm a poly pagan who is interested in burns, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

With that said, a new burn is coming to town, to southern Pennsylvania to be
exact.
It may have a bit more of a pagan edge to it. It is called Wicker Man and
it will be held at Four Quarters InterFaith Farm over Memorial Day weekend.

If you are at all interested, and I hope many of you will be,
there is more information at this website: http://www.wickermanburning.org

I wish you a blessed Ostara and a glorious spring.

Recent Polyamory in the News

If you haven't been reading Polyamory in the News (http://polyinthemedia.blogspot.com/) in the last three months, here's some of what you missed:

** Today's Washington Post (Feb. 13) has a HUGE feature article on Loving More's Poly Living conference, held in early February. (I was there! Yay!) The article is remarkably perceptive and insightful. This is Big Time Stuff, getting talked about all over. Copy and save this one.

** Is the poly-vs-swinging debate finally settling itself? On both sides of this cultural divide, people seem to be deciding that it's a continuous spectrum on which you can position yourself where you wish. This takes on new relevance as swinging goes through an upsurge of mainstream attention -- which will increase when the primetime CBS-TV drama "Swingtown" debuts.

** For a couple opening up to poly, well-thought-out relationship agreements are a fine idea. But be prepared to outgrow them. In particular, don't get snagged by the Symbol Over Substance Mistake.

** "An Open and Shut Marriage" in the New York Times is a study in how not to try. How many blunders can you count here? Please -- research what other people have learned before setting out to reinvent this often difficult wheel. In the last 25 years the poly community has accumulated, through trial and error, a substantial body of wisdom.

** A chain of New Age magazines decides to spread a bit of this wisdom, in "Love Big."

** "Why is polyamory offensive? ...The most telling reason is that it makes people explore their own relationships and the fears that reside within...."

** A couple in Florida, brimming to share what they've found, announce Poly 101 workshops for the public and get nicely written up in their local paper. Maybe you can too.

** Rachel Kramer Bussell, a leading erotica author, wrestles with the Case for Open Relationships. "Polyamory is not a panacea; if you think you'll cure any and all sexual longings or be free of jealousy simply by taking on new partners, you're probably in for a rude awakening."

** Plus bunches of positive coverage in Spain (with TV-news video), Norway, Germany....

------------------

Here's the site: http://polyinthemedia.blogspot.com/ . The 10 most recent items are up front. Look in the recent monthly archives for more. The archives are also sorted by subject and, in some cases, location.

I've done 184 of these reports in the last two and a half years. I hope you have as much fun browsing them as I did creating them.

Cheers,

Alan

Hello Everyone!

Just thought I'd post a little "hello"! :)

I've been Pagan for around a decade now but have only recently found myself in a polyfidelitous relationship. My long-standing relationship with my first boyfriend of 6yrs took a turn in a new direction when we both unexpectedly fell head-over-heels for the same guy; and he for us. We have been a poly triad now for almost 5 months and we're increasingly happy (sickeningly so, some might say, lol). I am still learning about poly relationships but so far we are doing everything I read about "naturally" if that makes any sense. I'm also learning to incorporate it into my Pagan lifestyle more and found the book Pagan Polyamory: Becoming a Tribe of Hearts by Raven Kaldera to be quite enlightening and useful as a starting point.

Umm...won't waffle on much more; do excuse me if I tend to "lurk" for a while just absorbing other people's discussions and stuff as I learn more. I'll be sure to speak up if I have something to ask/say! :)

Yours in the Gods,
~Kenn
I have been largely silent about Poly Big Fun 2008 for a long time. This is because things are still quiet, but we are advancing in preparing for the event. But today I have a few announcements.

First, and most importantly, this message is being posted only to poly-austin@yahoogroups.com and to polybigfun@polybigfun.org. Generally, announcements and discussions go only to polybigfun@polybigfun.org. If you wish to subscribe to that list, please send a message to:

polybigfun-subscribe@polybigfun.org

If that fails, email me and I will set you up.

For those of you who are new to the community, Poly Big Fun is a yearly retreat that we have at Bastrop State Park. More details are available at www.polybigfun.org/ .

For 2008, the event will be held at the same location as always, from Thursday April 10th through Sunday April 13th. Registration for the event, as always, will begin at the beginning of January. There will be some changes this year, most notably in how you will select cabin spaces and how you will sign up for work shifts, but the event will be largely as you have come to expect.

I will be begging for discussion leads as soon as registration goes online.

Otherwise, more news come January 1st!
One day Polyamory Hotel Seminar in South San Francisco

This is the first in a series of seminars around the country.

Loving More Loving Choices
A Relationship Seminar
Presented by
Loving More® Non-profit Organization
303-543-7540
Saturday November 3, 2007
San Francisco, CA
Clarion Airport
8:00am-6:00pm

In today's complex world of romantic relationships, finding and
maintaining honest intimate relationships is both challenging and
complex. We follow rules and relationship models based on societal
standards that may not work for us. Polyamorous relating is even more
complex. Our relationships start off like a dream come true but over
time things fizzle, losing their original spice and excitement or
becoming more complicated then we can deal with. With only one
dominant and accepted model for loving relationships, it is not
surprising many people are struggling. We at Loving More are aware of
these challenges and we are dedicated in helping people become aware
of choices and creating new models for loving relationships that work.

Loving More® is pleased to announce a new one day Seminar Series
"Loving Choices" focused on choosing what is right for you. Who says
that love has to follow a specific set of rules that limit how you
love others? Why pretend to be someone your not? Do you feel like
you can't be your honest self? Why fake it? Are you already
involved in a polyamorous relationship and looking to improve your
relationship skills? We invite you to attend the Loving Choices
seminar and learn ways to enjoy being your authentic self.

What you will learn
• New models beyond marriage and monogamy
• Communication Skills
• Being real and honest about what you need and want
• Making Agreements that work for you
• Dating – finding people of like mind
• Managing Emotions and Jealousy
• Enjoying pleasure and letting go of shame
• Poly Living styles – knowing what you want
• Polyamory 101

Who Should Attend
• those seeking to improve their polyamorous relationships and deepen
their connections with partners,
• people new to or exploring polyamory as a possible choice in their
personal relationships
• Therapists, counselors and others who work in the relationship field.
• Those who are looking to better their relationships with new points
of view.

Following the Seminar is an optional Loving More celebration and
evening social. This is a chance to meet and socialize with other

Seeking queer triads for research!

My name is Sunny. I am a graduate student in the Sexuality Studies program at San Francisco State University. I am conducting research on polyamory. The aim of my study is to explore how individuals in queer polyamorous triads discuss love in their relationships. I am in search of individuals in queer, long-term (one year or longer), polyamorous triads to interview. Individuals must identify themselves and their relationships as queer, and the triads must be three people who are all sexually and romantically involved with one another.

Participating in this study will entail a 45-90 minute one-on-one interview at a comfortable and private location convenient for both of us to discuss your experiences and feelings of love while in a triad.

If you are currently in a queer, long-term (one year or longer), triad relationship and are interested in participating in the study, please contact me!

smnordmarken@yahoo.com
(415) 516-0908

I am currently seeking people to interview! Please contact me as soon as possible if you would like to participate.

Thank you!

So I just turned 25 on 1 sept. and went and spent my first weekend with both of my boyfriends! it was super and we had a blast! Nate (primary) and I started dating Nathan (new bf with same name I gotta thing for Nathans) about 2 weeks ago. but where Nate and I were moving we were not certain as to the longjevity of a relationship with Nathan...but he may move down here in the next 6 months so all is well! HEHE i am giddy.

And though it is a hinge relationship (I would prefer triad) I have positive thoughts as to its outcome!

No, it's not a new poly configuration, it's where I live. :) Because of a certain crop that grows here, Humboldt, Mendocino and Trinity Counties in Northern California are referred to as the "Emerald Triangle."

But are there any Pagan polys here? Particularly in Humboldt?

Blessings All
I have 82 acres that Mother Earth is sharing with me here outside of St.Johns Az. I would love to help host a weekend camping trip here on the land where we can get time to meet and get to know each other. where we can have a fire circle all night long if that is the will of all. For some pictures of Mothers land you can go to

Blessings All
I have been bless to see something over the last four or maybe five months that is a example of the love of Spirit working in all ways.
I have been watching a Red Tail Hawk and a Raven together eating off the same kill and flying close together. I have seem them a off and on, on the dirt road going into town, about a mile and half from me. Also the hawk comes by here once in a while just to say hi it seems.
So let’s hear more stories about animals that you have seen dong things a little different then we think of them.
If a Hawk and Raven can get along then we all should be able to you would think.

This Tribe

I was thinking of this tribe in the shower this morning, wondering why activitl here was so slow.
I laughed at myself when I realized that the very name on the tribe was the answer. Poly Pagan.
I haven't checked the nationalities of all the members, but most of us are westerners...

Since much of our society is uncomfortable with the concepts and ideas of polygamy
Coupled with the same response to non Christian religious concepts,
We are left with a topic that even practicioners shy away from.

Toowhit;
Let us speak on the matter with some insight, compassion and understanding.
By our expression we create that which we desire,
Find within these words communion.

Polyamory in the News!

A movie being made of The Ethical Slut... Polyamory in The God Delusion... After 15 years, the word becomes official... Polys as the world's jealousy experts....

Lots of stuff has been happening at Polyamory in the News, http://polyinthemedia.blogspot.com/ , in the last two months. If you haven't been checking, here's what you missed:

** “How Prevalent is Polyamory?” We are everywhere. . . or are we? Here's a collection of stats and surveys, and thoughts on what they mean.

** The controversial British poly documentary “I Love You. And You. And You” has been rebroadcast — and at last you can see it on the web.

** “Three on a match can be dangerous” (Chicago Sun-Times). Couples therapist Laura Berman goes on a tear against more-than-twoness, and members of the poly community rally in reply.

** “Unfaithful? No, I just have too much love for one man” (Daily Mail, London). One of Great Britain’s “dreadful rags” is shocked, shocked!

** “Monogamy, Polyamory, and Beyond” (Tikkun magazine). A leading progressive religious/political journal examines the possibilities that compersion — “sympathetic joy” in multipartnering — offers for spiritual advancement (dare we say evolution?).

** “All Mine” (Herald-Sun, Australia). Are polys becoming the media’s go-to experts on understanding jealousy?

** “Make Love; End Monogamy War” (Sydney Morning Herald, Australia). “Monogamy is the capitalism of the social world. It isn’t perfect and it’s mighty expensive, but no one’s actually come up with a viable alternative for the masses.”

** German Green Endorses Poly; Brouhaha Ensues. The “Pippi Longstocking of German politics” raises eyebrows, and wins fans, across Europe.

** “Polyamory” enters the Oxford English Dictionary, finally making it as officially an English word as possible. Jennifer Wesp, co-inventor of the word in the early 1990s, writes in to describe exactly where, when, and how she created it.

** “What is commitment? Polyamorous perspectives on love, sex and relationships” (American Sexuality). Cascade Cook assembles a variety of polys’ takes on what commitment means to them and their partners. A good handout.

** Polyamory cited in The God Delusion. Atheist author Richard Dawkins give us a good mention in his current blockbuster book.

** The Ethical Slut: the movie! Filming begins this summer. A self-declared "Taoist" indie film company says it intends to give it a good, serious treatment.

** Developments at Loving More: The magazine should soon be back on its feet. Meanwhile, Loving More and polyamory become a running plot element on NBC's Monday-night series “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.”

** Swing/Poly Advocates Arouse Debate in China. And you thought Podunk, USA was messed up. . .

** "Not Too Emo" (The Stranger, Seattle). "There is a key trait in people who do polyamory well, and it's this: They are good at regulating their strong emotions."
Handfasting In Michigan?

Blessed Meet Everyone! I wish you all a wonderful Imbolc with much enjoyment of the Magick of the holiday!

I was wondering if anyone knows of someone in Michigan (Detroit area, but willing to travel) who would be able to perform a handfasting ritual between myself and my lover (I always call him my other husband, though). I am in what I've read is considered a poly "V" where one of my guys has the Marriage Certificate (license) and the other does not. We have an understanding that this is a lifelong commitment, but I would really like to have a ceremony to symbolize that commitment. We all all live together, share finances, chores, etc. My husband, Bill, does date from time to time (so I wouldn't consider us a closed polyfi triangle), but Carl chooses not to see anyone else but me, and for my sanity I think two husbands is enough! ;-) Any ideas on how we can go about this would be much appreciated. Oh, and even if it's not some big-to-do, that's fine with us. Even something private, but official to our spiritual belief system would be wonderful.

Oh by the way, we consider ourselves Eclectic Pagans, so we are open to any beautiful and meaningful ideas from the various branches of Paganism. Thank you so much!

Loving More Conference Registration Deadline/website update

Loving More Conference Registration Deadline/website update
Re-Posted with permission by: "Robyn" lovingmore@comcast.net
Tue Dec 26, 2006 7:34 pm (PST)
To the Loving More Community,

I wanted to say hello and happy holidays to the wonderful community
that we all share. The holiday season is always time of joy and
rebirth. We have all felt it at one point in another and we are at
the brink of a fabulous rebirth. Loving More Magazine is now Loving
More Non-Profit organization. It has been an evolving entity that we
have been a witness of for some time now. With that said we are in
the middle of such a grand evolutionary phase. Yes all changes can
be a little hairy but we are so excited of what is to come. I don't
want to give away too much of what is to come but I can honestly say
that you will really enjoy what we have up our sleeves.

These changes do come with some challenges and although they aren't
permanent, they are a bit inconvenient. In the midst of our updates
to our organization our website is going through some challenges.
The website has been bouncing a bit during our changes and
unfortunately the X-cart shopping cart is currently experiencing
intermittent difficulties. I know this comes at an inconvenient time
and I would like for you to please email us with your orders if you
have challenges and w can get them processed (send orders for now to
lovingmore@comcast. net). With our surprise that we are working on,
this will be but a simple ripple in a wave of evolution.

Now we can't give away what we are up to, but if you want to
volunteer to help out the organization, you may get a taste of what's
to come. Shh you won't be able to tell, but you can share our grins
when people ask us what we have up our sleeve.

And now for the details of our current promotion we have going on for
members of our lovely community:

Due to website and weather challenges the Colorado Conference
Deadline has been extended to December 31, 2006 to avoid late
registration fees. The current registration price for the conference
only is $85 for members and $95 for non-members, for the social and
conference the price is $100 for members and $115 for non-members.

The West Conference June 21- 24, 2007, Early Registration Deadline is
January 1, 2007. Early Registration (1/1/07) $385/member, $420/non-
member, the price goes up $40pp. Keep in mind the price includes
four days and three nights accommodations, all meals, workshops and
playshops as well as the use of Brooktrails Lodge facilities and lots
of wonderful poly fun, information and the chance to make new
friends.

If the online system at lovemore.com is not working or giving you
server errors please email me at lovingmore@comcast. net. We can
invoice you via Paypal for credit card and online payments or we can
send you a registration form and you can send a check to Loving More,
PO Box 4358, Boulder, CO 80306. Feel free to call 303-543-7540 with
questions about either Conference. I am on vacation and Loving More
offices are closed through the 31st. I will be checking messages
and handling Conference registrations during this time. All other
correspondence, orders and calls will be returned after the 2nd when
the office re-opens.

Warmest Wishes and Happy New Year to all.
Poly Living conference in Philadelphia, Feb 2-4

Folks,

As some of you may know, George Marvil, the founder of the Poly Living conference in Philadelphia and various pagan get-togethers, died of cancer recently after being ill for more than a year. His wife Cat intends to carry on Poly Living as his memorial, but she is asking all who are considering going to please register by December 31st at the very latest, which is the hotel's deposit deadline. They need 100 registrants by then.

The cost is very reasonable ($155 per person after discount; enter "bsmg" in the discount code box). The hotel in downtown Philly is very nice, and the rooms are reasonable ($109 per night for the two nights; up to 4 people allowed in a room to split the cost).

For more info and to register:
http://polyliving.com/

I went last February and had a wonderful time! I'm going again this year. If you want to know more of what it's like, I wrote up a report on my experiences:

advice for a ritual?

I am a natural born caregiver and tend to put others needs before my own. I can give quite a bit before I start to feel anything resembling resentment. In relationships however, I always go overboard making sure my partners needs are met without even concidering what I want. That is even hard to think about. I'm in an open relationship with a girl that I really love and I have not been able to let myself hook up with other people and she has been with a number of people. There was one person I was interested in but sabotaged it when the girl I love got jealous to prove that I love her alot or some stupid reason like that.

I would like to perform a ritual that will bolster my sense of self-confidence awarness and respect. I would like to cultivate some appropriate selfishness. I want to marry myself -commiting to working towards healthy giving and healthy taking.

does anyone have anything inspiring to share with me?

LOVING THE ONE YOU’RE WITH MAKES YOU FIT FOR POLYAMORY by Sasha Lessin, Ph.D. sashalessinphd@aol.com

LOVING THE ONE YOU’RE WITH MAKES YOU FIT FOR POLYAMORY by Sasha Lessin, Ph.D. sashalessinphd@aol.com

If you’re part of a couple that’s looking for, but haven’t found the poly lovers you want, don’t despair. Instead, in the couple of which you’re now part, love each other more. Appreciate what you’ve got, don’t suffer for what you’ve not.

Apply non-attachment to polyamory. Celebrate you couple-relationship and you cease suffering about polyamory. Enjoy the present with your mate. If you and your primary don’t attract other lovers, you’re okay with each other and you don’t suffer. If other lovers do come to you–and they will–celebrate that too. Fully celebrate the relationship you have and new poly possibles present themselves plentifully. When Janet and I relate joyously to each other, new lovers appear. Message’s clear. Love your life as it now is and it gets better.

Here’s the All-Chakra Tantra approach to enjoying your present pairing to the max and thereby promoting your poly possibilities.

Chakra 1, Encourage each other’s Inner Children to play and expose vulnerability

Chakra 2: Enjoy mutual sensuality

Chakra 3, Empower each other claim what’s rightfully yours

Chakra 4: give and get romantic love

Chakra 5: Communicate compassionately and authentically

Chakra 6: Share thoughts, intuitions, visions

Chakra 7: Experience your oneness with each other and the Universe

My bet is the more you love each other at all levels, the more love you’ll attract from others.

We will:
* share concerns around why different models of relating hasn't worked for you.
* focus on specific issues such as jealousy management, the negotiating of boundaries, etc.
* ascertain which models of relating is best for you and learn how to assert and manage each one.
* discuss and provide information, tools and skills about how to create more options for either polyamory or open relationships.
* illuminate the ways in which we stop ourselves from getting what we want.
* offer integration techniques for successfully negotiating differences in relationship models.

We are committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for communication, innovation and experimentation. There will be plenty of room for discussions and exchange of experiences, as well as
guided exercises and structured interactions.

This group is open to individuals and couples with allkinds of experiences with poly/& open relationships from any sexual orientation. You are welcome whether you are already in or contemplating an open/polyamorous relationship, or you are much more monogamous with a polyamorously inclined partner.

THE FACILITATORS:

Meriana de Jager earned her Masters in Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies and is currently working at New Perspectives Center for Counseling. She has been working with
individuals and couples for 5 years. Some of the psychotherapeutic modalities she has extensive training and practice in are
Psychodynamics, Cognitive Behavioral, Hakomi, RCS and Body-centered
psychotherapy. Meriana feels strongly about each persons right to
create for themselves the life they truly desire. She is passionate about helping people find, define and be empowered in what is true for them and is committed to helping them actualize it in their lives.

Ty Gesyuk has worked as a personal coach for many years and has interviewed thousands of couples on what makes a healthy relationship last. His approach in coaching couples is rooted in the oriental wisdom of nature. Apart from working as a personal coach he has
an extensive background in yoga, meditation, dance, massage, martial arts, nutrition and personal training. He draws from modern and ancient systems to teach, in simple terms, a language of health. His core belief is that health equals freedom. After observing people suffer with health concerns and in a prison-of-sorts from their pain, he vowed to do something about it. Since then he has founded three
centers of health, taught over a hundred thousand yoga students, and massaged over 20 thousand people.

Address: 298 Laidley St. @ Miguel
in the Glen Park neighborhood of San Francisco

RSVP is recommended

Donations for this gathering will a sliding scale of $20-$50. And since we appreciate what yo have to bring and want you to be able to be there, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Call Meriana at 415-713-3338 or Ty at 973-495-5996 if you have any questions. Hope to see you there!

Blessings All
Just stop in to say hi and wish everyone a great Fall as winter is coming early to the high desert, would love to meet more poly pagans in this area to join or start a monthly meeting.
I am on 82 acres of Mothers land as a co care taker of Mother Earth. Being 22 miles from a small town makes it a little hard to meet others like minded spirits, I have met some beautiful spirits just not many that are poly. Back to taking a day off. As this weekend will be busy while Father Sun is out where I can paint the add on to my fifth wheel more and get the stove pipe in for winter.
Have a bless and fun life
In Love & In Light

POLYAMORY: MULTIPLE MUTUALLY RECOGNIZED LOVERS by Sasha Lessin, Ph.D.

POLYAMORY: MULTIPLE MUTUALLY RECOGNIZED LOVERS by Sasha Lessin, Ph.D.
www.worldpolyamoryassociation.com

You're polyamorous; you love many people. "Amorous"
means "loving." "Poly" means "many." You love many. You love
parents, kids, friends. Technically, you're poly because you're
human and you love; that's how you're wired. This literal
translation of polyamory as "muliple love" is not, however, what the
popular media and people who call themselves polyamorous mean when
they use the poly word. Media adds sex; poly people add honesty.

Popular media, then, uses the term polyamory to refer to multiple
contemporaneous sex partnering. Mainstreamers use the word
polyamory to refer to what I call "polycoity," sexual intercourse
with more than one partner. Or "polyorallity" for those--and we've met quite a few--who engage in oral sex with several lovers, but reserve intercourse for only some or one of these lovers. Most people who call themselves poly accept the multisexuality part of the media's definition of polyamory.

But in the literature of self-identified polyamorists, polyamory has
come to imply a crucial ethical aspect that the media ignores:
Candor. Disclosure of multiple relations is the critical factor that
differentiates polyamory from the surreptitious cheating rife among
conventional folk. Polyamorists tell all–or at least most people--involved; cheaters hide their sexual connections from each other.

When my wife Janet and I vet potential poly partners, we contact each
of our potential SOs, their lovers' lovers, to ascertain whether or not they consent to our loving their lover. We refuse to contribute to the grief or distress of mates or significant others who are involved with those who wish to connect with us.

Not all polys share our concern with lovers' S0s. Some self-identified polys believe it's not their responsibility or concern to check out a potential lover's relations with others, or not, at least, to check it out before they connect sexually. They may tell their actual lovers of each other, but let the new lover cheat on his or her mate. In time, such cheating's often discovered and leads to upset that could have been avoided with the courtesy of honesty.

I'm interested in what you think. What do you want from your lovers
in the way of advanced notice before you connect? What do you do
about your lovers' significant others? How do you check out potential
lovers?
WILL COUPLE LOVE NEWBIES MORE? Janet Kira Lessin worldpolyamory@aol.com

WILL COUPLE LOVE NEWBIES MORE? Janet Kira Lessin worldpolyamory@aol.com

MIDWESTERNER wrote, “What would happen if my wife opened herself up emotionally or if
we agreed to allow each other to be more emotionally attached. Would
I later desire the other woman more or she desire the other man
more or some other conflicting combination of feelings?

JANET: My husband, Sasha, and I were blessed to fall in love with a very special
couple. Our commitment to each other was so total and complete, and the other
couple was so devoted to each other, there was never any doubt that we'd
remain involved with our primary partners while loving all the way around.

There did come a point where my love for the other woman felt threatening to
the other man, so they withdrew from us and are no longer involved with us.
And yes, ouch, that hurt. But, I'd do it all again, because the love I
felt and the love we all felt will always be. I have the love, I have the memories and
I have the model that LOVING MORE THAN ONE REALLY WORKS.

Many couples do move into deep sexual and emotional intimacy and some
experience feelings in varying degrees and intensity over the course of the
relationship with their new partners. It's part of the thrill, part of learning how
to love. We feel what we feel. Feelings ARE. They are often uncontrollable
and seem to have a life of their own. Some couples, especially couples that
engage in swinging, pledge emotional fidelity with one another. But
realistically we feel what we feel. We can however make agreements and honor them and
do certain behaviors, like REMAIN HONEST IN OUR COMMUNICATION, STAY TOGETHER; NEVER ABANDON ONE ANOTHER, no matter what we feel for other partners.

Couples make commitments to stay together no matter what, work out the
dynamics of relating with others and RIDE THE WAVE OF EMOTIONS. There may be
some risk, but it sounds as if you are both very much in love with one another,
committed and devoted, secure enough that you'll remain true and you'll
LEARN, GROW, EXPAND AND REMAIN TOGETHER no matter what.

A MODEL FOR POLYS TO GO APE by Janet Kira Lessin and Sasha Lessin, Ph.D. Worldpolyamory@aol.com

A MODEL FOR POLYS TO GO APE by Janet Kira Lessin and Sasha Lessin, Ph.D. Worldpolyamory@aol.com

In our polyamory and tantra seminars and private sessions, men outnumber women 3 to1. Women, we found, fear tantra and polyamory as emphasizing sexuality too much and so avoid both. What, we wondered, makes women cautious about situations they perceive as involving sex?

Nan Wise (The Attachment Flu: Lessons In Loving and Letting Go: Loving More #22) discusses a biological basis for this caution. She writes, following Ken Wilber ( A Brief History of Everything)

When a woman’s skin is stroked, she releases oxytocin, the hormone of relationship and attachment. It’s nature’s way of assuring that woman stay with our partners and nurture our young and feather our nests. It is present in men in smaller quantities.

Years ago Janet read a similar article noting that a woman’s oxytocin increased with the number of orgasms she has with a man. Orgasms and oxytocin keep her coming back to him, attaches her to him for more love and pleasure until she conceives. The man is rewarded by reproducing. His genes continue.

“Oxytocin,” in Nan’s words, “is part of my hard wiring. Once I attach it is very difficult to let go. It is why I pay attention to relationships. It is why I have held on tightly to my lover as I have, past the point that my reasoning mind thought was suitable. It is partly why I have tolerated unacceptable behaviors and suffered from the side effects associated with valuing relationship over self.”

Perhaps this is the major reason women are cautious about workshops and coaching involving sex. This varies, of course, with the woman. Some men, too, have higher levels of oxytocin and are consequently as sensitive, bond as much emotionally and can be as devastated as women. The amounts of oxytocin released varies with each individual.

Men and women both release testosterone, a hormone that increases interest in sexuality. Men tend to have more testosterone, and are more drawn to activities, such as poly and tantra workshops, that they think will involve sex. Amounts of testosterone also varies among individuals, and some women, with higher levels of testosterone relative to oxytocin, are sexually free and able to have many casual lovers, like men.

Women imagining polyamory and tantra workshops to be potentially sexual also fear competition with other women for men. Sad to say, but women have been trained to distrust each other. They’ve seen how sex led their mothers to have children. Then, in the ostensibly monogamous relations of most parents, woman may have seen their mothers either be abandoned or sexually ignored by their fathers.

It seems that a woman’s mothering can get in the way of her sexuality, especially if she makes her relationship to a child more important to her than her relation with her man. The man feels abandoned and seeks other primary relationships. This can kill the standard monogamous relationship. The man, the woman or both may think of cheating and eventually do so, or the sexual interaction between the couple may lessen or die.

Bonobo chimps solve problems of female fear of non-affiliation with sex partners that bedevil humans. Bonobos eliminate competition among females, resolve conflict, love intensely and intimately and maintain very active sexual connections their whole lives.

The bonobo are female-centered and sexually egalitarian. Their females ally to inhibit male aggression; sexual behavior (in every partner combination) replaces aggressive behavior. Unrelated bonobo tribes make love rather than fight.

When two tribes of bonobos meet the lead females of each group inspect, then engage in sex with each other. Then each of these females each takes the leading male from their respective groups by the hand and leads him to the female she just loved. She presents this male as a sexual gift to her female counterpart. Each lead male then has intercourse with the lead female of the new tribe. Then all the members of both tribes enjoy sex with one another. Bonobos use sex to avoid conflict.

Anything that arouses the interest of more than one bonobo tends to result in sexual contact. If two bonobos approach a cardboard box thrown into their enclosure, they will briefly mount each other before playing with the box. Such situations lead to squabbles in most other species. But bonobos are quite tolerant. , They use sex to divert attention and to diffuse tension.

A jealous male might chase another away from a female, after which the two males reunite and engage in scrotal rubbing. Or after a female hits a juvenile, the latter's mother may lunge at the aggressor, an action that is immediately followed by genital rubbing between the two adults. The species' most striking achievement sensitivity to others. (DeWaal, F: Bonobo Sex and Society)

We have much to learn from our bonobo cousins. The sensitivity they display is crucial in the human polyamorous dance. My husband, Sasha, and I use the bonobo model when we date couples; it seems to work well.

At the start of our date with another couple, Sasha makes love with me and the other couple also makes love. Then we women connect before we exchange men.

If the other woman and I do not bond and connect, if we don’t feel flowing and natural, we keep our relation social and do not become sexual. We don’t manipulate, convince or pressure her to more intimacy than she chooses.

If click energetically, I watch the woman of the other couple love Sasha. Then Sasha and she watch me make love with her man.

We commit to open, honest expression and treat emotional upset and jealousy, should they arise, as blessings–paths to deeper awareness and spiritual growth. We encourage an upset person to identify his feelings.

Sometimes, in a foursome situation, you may not know why you feel scared or jealous.

We women distanced ourselves from each other as we developed sexually and vied for men, we abandoned each other for them. Or we imprinted the woman-vs-woman competition habit. My girl gang in Avalon, PA, agreed without words to break dates with each other to go out with men. We acted like it was okay. In reality, it hurt.

This uncertain past with one each other disempowers us as individuals. It blocks the synergistic potential of our sisterhood. We need to become pals, to enjoy, encourage and help each other. Like the bonobos.

Bonobos are bisexual. Bisexuality gives females an additional level of intimacy that goes beyond just friendship.

I only discovered my bisexuality well into adulthood and I am delighted that I now have this added dimension for relating. Connecting with my female lovers enhances polyamorous interludes and reconnect me with the feminine in ways I haven’t known since pre-adolescence. Before adolescence, I was in love with my girlfriends. We adored one another. We gave each other “friendship” rings, like we were going steady. Now that I’m again lovers with women, I return to childhood innocence, to early days before adults shamed us for feeling what we felt--true affection and love for our dear, sweet girlfriends.

Bisexual or not, when two women in a two-couple date connect energetically, if not sexually, we bond to help and encourage each other. It’s so much easier to feel safe and really trust a woman that you know, feel and love.

We share more with bonobos. We and they enjoy recreational. We and these chimps use sex to nourish love feelings, bonding, intimacy. Bonobos, like us, make love face to face, eye to eye.

Both humans and bonobos, at the level of actual, genetically proven studies, show most humans have many sexual partners. In one study, one third of recorded fathers were not the genetic fathers. Humans are, in actual sexual behavior, one group of lovers. Our children are the children of us all, of the tribe.

In other ways, bonobos differ from us. Bonobo females run things and bonobo males are peaceful, nonviolent, opposite humans, with male control and violence. The peaceable bonobo has retained traits of common ancestry that we patriarchally-socialized people find hard to recognize in ourselves. It’s time for us to emulate our ape allies and live from bonobo consciousness.

I poste back in September, and there hasn't been a new post since. Is everyone here just dead? Are there any real polyamorous pagans left in the world?

Let's get the chatter going. The polyUnder35 tribe is talking about a get together. what's everyone think.

I'm so pumped to have bumbbled across this tribe (missed in all my searches, but found it looking over Lliana's tribes...I hope your move goes well...great photos!). I suppose it was one of those "meant to be" things, since we just a wonderful, albiet painfully brief, converstaion about such (and many more) matters at Pagan Pride. Thanks S. for leading that. It was good to hear someone rail against _The Ethical Slut_ I love a varied opion! I think there is some good work on jealousy and communcations issue in the book, but I also agree it seems to fail that polyfidelity thing. Anyway, I've said all this before.

So I'm new to Tribe.net and start looking around at all the different groups out there and I see PolyPagans--this is right up my alley! Woohoo, a group of my very favorite kind of people to hang out with!

The last two posts were made by Nina and Nekkid Shawn--two people who are not only my dear friends, but also connected in my poly network. Does this mean that I and my beloved are entirely too promiscuous? ;) Or is that we all have excellent taste?

Love!

Hey there, "PolyPagans" members--

This Tribe doesn't have a moderator, but as a matter of policy, Tribe.net likes all groups to have a leader.
Could you collectively choose someone to moderate your Tribe?

When you've reached consensus, have the new moderator send a note to help@tribe.net - from the e-mail they use to log into their tribe acct. - with the words "Moderator Change - Name of the Tribe" in the subject header, letting us know that you've selected a new leader.

Thanks--

The Crusaders

Christian evangelicals are plotting to remake America in their own image

By BOB MOSER

www.rollingstone.com

It's February, and 900 of America's staunchest Christian fundamentalists have gathered in Fort Lauderdale to look back on what they accomplished in last year's election -- and to plan what's next. As they assemble in the vast sanctuary of Coral Ridge Presbyterian, with all fifty state flags dangling from the rafters, three stadium-size video screens flash the name of the conference: RECLAIMING AMERICA FOR CHRIST. These are the evangelical activists behind the nation's most effective political machine -- one that brought more than 4 million new Christian voters to the polls last November, sending George W. Bush back to the White House and thirty-two new pro-lifers to Congress. But despite their unprecedented power, fundamentalists still see themselves as a persecuted minority, waging a holy war against the godless forces of secularism. To rouse themselves, they kick off the festivities with "Soldiers of the Cross, Arise," the bloodthirstiest tune in all of Christendom: "Seize your armor, gird it on/Now the battle will be won/Soon, your enemies all slain/Crowns of glory you shall gain."

Meet the Dominionists -- biblical literalists who believe God has called them to take over the U.S. government. As the far-right wing of the evangelical movement, Dominionists are pressing an agenda that makes Newt Gingrich's Contract With America look like the Communist Manifesto. They want to rewrite schoolbooks to reflect a Christian version of American history, pack the nation's courts with judges who follow Old Testament law, post the Ten Commandments in every courthouse and make it a felony for gay men to have sex and women to have abortions. In Florida, when the courts ordered Terri Schiavo's feeding tube removed, it was the Dominionists who organized round-the-clock protests and issued a fiery call for Gov. Jeb Bush to defy the law and take Schiavo into state custody. Their ultimate goal is to plant the seeds of a "faith-based" government that will endure far longer than Bush's presidency -- all the way until Jesus comes back.

"Most people hear them talk about a 'Christian nation' and think, 'Well, that sounds like a good, moral thing,' says the Rev. Mel White, who ghostwrote Jerry Falwell's autobiography before breaking with the evangelical movement. "What they don't know -- what even most conservative Christians who voted for Bush don't know -- is that 'Christian nation' means something else entirely to these Dominionist leaders. This movement is no more about following the example of Christ than Bush's Clean Water Act is about clean water."

The godfather of the Dominionists is D. James Kennedy, the most influential evangelical you've never heard of. A former Arthur Murray dance instructor, he launched his Florida ministry in 1959, when most evangelicals still followed Billy Graham's gospel of nonpartisan soul-saving. Kennedy built Coral Ridge Ministries into a $37-million-a-year empire, with a TV-and-radio audience of 3 million, by preaching that it was time to save America -- not soul by soul but election by election. After helping found the Moral Majority in 1979, Kennedy became a five-star general in the Christian army. Bush sought his blessing before running for president -- and continues to consult top Dominionists on matters of federal policy.

"Our job is to reclaim America for Christ, whatever the cost," Kennedy says. "As the vice regents of God, we are to exercise godly dominion and influence over our neighborhoods, our schools, our government, our literature and arts, our sports arenas, our entertainment media, our news media, our scientific endeavors -- in short, over every aspect and institution of human society."

At Reclaiming America, most of the conference is taken up by grassroots training sessions that supply ministers, retirees and devout churchgoers with "The Facts of Stem-Cell Research" or "Practical Steps to Impact Your Community with America's Historical Judeo-Christian Heritage." "We're going to turn you into an army of one," Gary Cass, executive director of Reclaiming America, promises activists at one workshop held in Evangalism Explosion Hall. The Dominionists also attend speeches by supporters like Rep. Katherine Harris of Florida, who urges them to "win back America for God." In their spare time, conference-goers buy books about a God-devised health program called the Maker's Diet or meet with a financial adviser who offers a "biblically sound investment plan."

To implement their sweeping agenda, the Dominionists are working to remake the federal courts in God's image. In their view, the Founding Fathers never intended to erect a barrier between politics and religion. "The First Amendment does not say there should be a separation of church and state," declares Alan Sears, president and CEO of the Alliance Defense Fund, a team of 750 attorneys trained by the Dominionists to fight abortion and gay marriage. Sears argues that the constitutional guarantee against state-sponsored religion is actually designed to "shield" the church from federal interference -- allowing Christians to take their rightful place at the head of the government. "We have a right, indeed an obligation, to govern," says David Limbaugh, brother of Rush and author of Persecution: How Liberals Are Waging War Against Christianity. Nothing gets the Dominionists to their feet faster than ringing condemnations of judicial tyranny. "Activist judges have systematically deconstructed the Constitution," roars Rick Scarborough, author of Mixing Church and State. "A God-free society is their goal!"

Activist judges, of course, are precisely what the Dominionists want. Their model is Roy Moore, the former Alabama chief justice who installed a 5,300-pound granite memorial to the Ten Commandments, complete with an open Bible carved in its top, in the state judicial building. At Reclaiming America, Roy's Rock sits out front, fresh off a tour of twenty-one states, perched on the flag-festooned flatbed of a diesel truck, a potent symbol of the "faith-based" justice the Dominionists are bent on imposing. Activists at the conference pose for photographs beside the rock and have circulated a petition urging President Bush to appoint Moore -- who once penned an opinion calling for the state to execute "practicing homosexuals" -- to the U.S. Supreme Court.

"The other side knows we've got strongholds in the executive and legislative branches," Cass tells the troops. "If we start winning the judiciary, their power base is going to be eroded."

To pack the courts with fundamentalists like Moore, Dominionist leaders are planning a massive media blitz. They're also pressuring Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist -- an ally who's courting support for his presidential bid -- to halt the long-standing use of filibusters to hold up judicial nominations. An anti-filibuster petition circulating at the conference blasts Democrats for their "outrageous stonewalling of appointments" -- even though Congress has approved more nominees of Bush than of any president since Jimmy Carter.

It helps that Dominionists have a direct line to the White House: The Rev. Richard Land, top lobbyist for the 16-million-member Southern Baptist Convention, enjoys a weekly conference call with top Bush advisers including Karl Rove. "We've got the Holy Spirit's wind at our backs!" Land declares in an arm-waving, red-faced speech. He takes particular aim at the threat posed by John Lennon, denouncing "Imagine" as a "secular anthem" that envisions a future of "clone plantations, child sacrifice, legalized polygamy and hard-core porn."

The Dominionists are also stepping up efforts to turn public schools into forums for evangelism. In a landmark case, the Alliance Defense Fund is suing a California school district that threatened to dismiss a born-again teacher who was evangelizing fifth-graders. In the conference's opening ceremony, the Dominionists recite an oath they dream of hearing in every classroom: "I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag, and to the Savior for whose kingdom it stands. One Savior, crucified, risen and coming again, with life and liberty for all who believe."

Cass urges conference-goers to stack school boards with Dominionists. "The most humble Christian is more qualified for office than the best-educated pagan," says Cass, an anti-abortion activist who led a takeover of his school district's board in San Diego. "We built quite a little grass-roots machine out there. Now it's my burden to multiply that success all across America."

Cass points to the Rev. Gary Beeler, a Baptist minister from Tennessee who got permission for thousands of students to skip class and attend weeklong events that he calls "old-time revivals, with preaching and singing and soul-saving and the whole nine yards." Now, with support from Kennedy, Beeler is selling his house and buying a mobile home to spread his crusade nationwide. "It's not exactly what I planned to do with my retirement," he says. "But it's what God told me to do."

Cass also presents another small-town activist, Kevin McCoy, with a Salt and Light Award for leading a successful campaign to shut down an anti-bullying program in West Virginia schools. McCoy, a soft-spoken, prematurely gray postal worker, fought to end the program because it taught tolerance for gay people -- and thus, in his view, constituted a "thinly disguised effort to promote the homosexual agenda." "What America needs," Cass tells the faithful, "is more Kevin McCoys."

While the dominionists rely on grass-roots activists to fight their battles, they are backed by some of America's richest entrepreneurs. Amway founder Rich DeVos, a Kennedy ally who's the leading Republican contender for governor of Michigan, has tossed more than $5 million into the collection plate. Jean Case, wife of former AOL chief Steve Case -- whose fortune was made largely on sex-chat rooms -- has donated $8 million. And Tom Monaghan, founder of Domino's Pizza, is a major source of cash for Focus on the Family, a megaministry working with Kennedy to eliminate all public schools.

The one-two punch of militant activists and big money has helped make the Dominionists a force in Washington, where a growing number of congressmen owe their elections to the machine. Kennedy has also created the Center for Christian Statesmanship, which trains elected officials to "more effectively share their faith in the public arena." Speaking to the group, House Majority Whip Tom DeLay -- a winner of Kennedy's Distinguished Christian Statesman Award -- called Bush's faith-based initiatives "a great opportunity to bring God back into the public institutions of our country."

The most vivid proof of the Christianizing of Capitol Hill comes at the final session of Reclaiming America. Rep. Walter Jones, a lanky congressman from North Carolina, gives a fire-and-brimstone speech that would have gotten him laughed out of Washington thirty years ago. In today's climate, however, he's got a chance of passing his pet project, the Houses of Worship Free Speech Restoration Act, which would permit ministers to endorse political candidates from their pulpits, effectively converting their tax-exempt churches into Republican campaign headquarters.

"America is under assault!" Jones thunders as his aides dash around the sanctuary snapping PR photos. "Everyone in America has the right to speak freely, except for those standing in the pulpits of our churches!" The amen chorus reaches a fever pitch. Hands fly heavenward. It's one thing to hear such words from Dominionist leaders -- but to this crowd, there's nothing more thrilling than getting the gospel from a U.S. congressman. "You cannot have a strong nation that does not follow God," Jones preaches, working up to a climactic, passionate plea for a biblical republic. "God, please -- God, please -- God, please -- save America!"

Hello,

Just wanted you to know about the PolyPagan logo that's posted in this tribe's album (main photo). It was created as part of the Polyamory Awareness and Acceptance Ribbon Campaign. The following explanation of its meaning was excerpted from the PAARC website (http://www.bee.net/cardigan/PAARC/index.htm):

===============================================

What This Ribbon Means

The Poly Ribbon displayed on a website indicates that the owner of that site supports the acceptance of polyamory as a socially accepted lifestyle. It does not necessarily mean that the owner of the site is practicing such a lifestyle, merely that s/he is in support of it. A link to this page serves to promote general awareness of the lifestyle and of this campaign.

The ribbon itself is based on a flag originally created by Jim Evans. A small version of the flag is shown in the border at left. As Jim states, the colors are significant: "blue, representing the openness and honesty among all partners with which we conduct our multiple relationships; red, representing love and passion; and black, representing solidarity with those who, though they are open and honest with all participants of their relationships, must hide those relationships from the outside world due to societal pressures. The symbol in the center of the flag is a gold Greek lowercase letter 'pi,' as the first letter of 'polyamory.' The letter's gold color represents the value that we place on the emotional attachment to others, be the relationship friendly or romantic in nature, as opposed to merely primarily physical relationships."
